The key line in the song is "down the middle or across the line? You gotta wonder if we're better off getting high." It's basically asking if it makes more sense to walk the straight and narrow or be a drunk that crosses the line with everyone. I've always liked that line. This song was recorded with The Unloved on the Homeward Bound CD.
